A large and important french ormolu clock surmounted by the seated figure of Demeter - the sister of Zeus and Goddess of Agriculture - and son, both holding sheafs of corn. The clock modelled with scythe and harrow and inset with two sevres plaques painted with cupids in agricultural theme. With original gilding. The dial stamped 'Henry Marc A Paris' and the mounts stamped C.T. Circa 1860
